March 4 is the date for the first Masquerade 5K & Feel Good Fest sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Pascagoula. The event will begin with registration at 8 a.m. at the La Pointe-Krebs House & Museum.
“A unique aspect of this event is the Health Learning Expo where participants can visit booths providing information on health and wellness,” Betty Carter, a spokeswoman for the club, said.
The 5K run and one-mile walk/fun run course will start at the La Pointe-Krebs House & Museum and travel into downtown Pascagoula and end back at the starting point.
Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Community projects have included the distribution of dictionaries
to all third grade students in Pascagoula, Moss Point and Resurrection schools; books given to all second grade students; and an annual donation
of $2,500 to the Dream Program. The club is currently working to provide Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to all schools.
