LETTER from the editor
Greetings as we waltz into February, a month full of special occasions and daylight beginning to get a bit longer as we look forward to Spring. Because February 14 brings romance to the forefront, it’s a good time for couples to become engaged and begin planning the big wedding event. With that in mind, we present South Mississippi Living’s fourth Wedding and Romance special section.
The writing was outstanding and painted a portrait of exactly what we tried to do when we opened On A Roll Sushi. I can assure you, we will proudly display your article on the walls.

We have an eye-catching bridal cover that’s sure to whet appetites
for the stories and ads in this special section, a real go-to section with inspiration and
practical advice
to help plan the
special day. The
story about date
nights under $50 is
sure to get creative
juices flowing if
you’re looking
for something
different to do.
The wedding
stories are
full of helpful
tips, including
finding the right
wedding planner,
organizing
hotel blocks and
welcome bags for
guests, and that all-important wedding checklist with a step-by-step guide. There are also some wonderful personal bridal stories along with pieces highlighting our sponsors and their services.
This month’s feature home and The Final Say go hand-in-hand with the special section. We take a tour of a young couple’s first home in Biloxi, and financial planner Suzie Sawyer writes about the importance of money management in marriage.
The Living History story is really interesting this month. Read all about the exhibit showcasing the amazing past of the venerable Gulf Hills Hotel and Conference Center in Ocean Springs. It’s complete with some vintage photos.
To honor National Heart Month, we have a Healthy Living story outlining some of the latest advancements in preventing heart disease. Thanks to Dr. Mahmoud Zayed for sharing his expertise.
The Sports & Outdoors section always has news of interest to sportsmen and women. This month includes an explanation of the new Speckled Trout size limits and a tale about the adventures of a local hunting guide.
