“A lot of people may not need a new heating and air system but they know someone from their work or their church who could really use it. That’s the most inspiring thing,” says Brian Younger, owner of Geiger Heating and Air Conditioning. “We’ve had a few times when our winners were nominated
by other people or when we contacted our winner to say that they’d won, they then wanted to give their system to someone else they knew in greater need.”
Geiger Heating and Air first teamed up with WXXV for the yearly contest based on a desire to give back to the community. The HVAC company has served South Mississippi residents since 1969 and enjoy the opportunity to repay the community
that has supported their business in this meaningful way. Trane, Rheem and Day & Night Heating and Cooling also take turns donating the units that are given away each year.
“My guys fight over who gets to do this installation ever year. We had to start drawing straws because so many of them wanted to be involved,” says Younger.
