TOP 10
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and that might make golf wives nervous. Trying to find just the right gift for that special someone could prove daunting, but never fear – my Top 10 Christmas Gifts for Golfers List is here.
Golfers are quirky, and they know what they like. Don’t buy a golf gift that is an extra 30 percent off unless the club or article happens to be what your golfer wants. “You know what I like!” Chances are the local professional knows as well.
CHRISTMAS GIFTS
FOR GOLFERS
10. COLLEGIATE BELT –
It’s college football season, and if your golfer loves football, chances are a collegiate belt from Clayton and Brume will do the trick on Christmas day.
9. SOCKS – You might think hosiery lands on
the most-boring list, but beautiful, knitted socks from Mack Weldon won’t put your golfer to sleep on the 25th.
8. SHIRTS – Shoppers must be careful when searching for that special polo. Vineyard Vines, Foot Joy and Peter Millar seem to top the list of sought-after tops. 7. PERSONALIZED GOLF BALLS – Make sure you buy the brand that’s already in your golfer’s bag.
6. GOLF – The gift of golf never disappoints. How about a round of golf at every course on the Coast?
5. CHIPPO GOLF GAME – Golfers love games and friendly wagers. Golf’s version of Cornhole travels anywhere and satis es both cravings.
4. GOLF BOOK – Golfers love to read about golf, but don’t buy the old standards. Find a golf book that relates to your favorite golfer. Research. My favorites: Every Shot Counts, The Best Putting Instruction Book Ever, Golf Wise and Golf Is Not a Game of Perfect.
3. GOLF TRIP – Be creative. Even if it’s a trip to a local destination, a
golf trip always lights up
a Christmas morning. My favorites: Pebble Beach, The Homestead, The Greenbrier and for those who want a taste of golf’s beginnings, The Old Course at St. Andrews.
2. A NEW PUTTER –
Golfers love new putters, but make sure the newest short-grass wand truly is the newest technology. Ping Sigma 2, Scotty Cameron and Odyssey Stroke Lab satisfy even the pickiest golfers. Just out is PXG’s Spit re.
1. TRAINING AIDS THAT ACTUALLY WORK – The Eyeline Putting Mirror and Putting Mats certainly work, but resourceful shoppers should look beyond the normal. MyGolfSpy loves the Tour Striker Educator while HonestGolfers rates SKLZ Gold Flex Golf
Swing Trainer number
one. The Orange Whip and Alignment Sticks always are a good choice. Stay away from the gimmicks – talk to your golf professional today so that your golfer can start training with a purpose.
