Special thanks to the wonderful ladies at Sadie Jane’s who created the beautiful coastal tree on our cover. Additionally, we
would like to thank the Aaron Jones Family Interactive Center staff for their willingness to let us come in and make a mess, and
the parents of our models for allowing them to participate. You’ve all raised some amazing – and very photogenic – kids!
Also in this issue is our annual Guide to Giving Back, where
local businesses highlight some of their favorite charities and non- profits. There are so many wonderful causes on the Coast, and
we hope our readers will consider donating to them this holiday season. Our Giving Guide contains a list of organizations provided by the United Way of South Mississippi to make giving even easier. A portion of the proceeds of this section will benefit the Bacot McCarty Foundation.
The Golden Years are also celebrated in this issue with features on the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, activities
for seniors and more. Seventy-eight-year-old Coast resident Mavis Newell also shares her story of living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
This month’s Final Say was written by Anthony Wilson, chairman, president and CEO of Mississippi Power. Wilson shares his excitement surrounding the holidays and recalls
how wonderful it is to call South Mississippi home again. We thank him for lending his voice to our magazine.
