There will be many activities at the November 16 event, including ‘info-taining booths,’ a Survivor Fashion
Show, and a ‘Purseonality Raffle’ in which business and community leaders will create purses loaded with their favorite things. Each purse will showcase the personalities of the creators and will be raffled off to support the American Heart Association’s mission.
“We want to invite all survivors of cardiovascular disease and stroke to participate as models for our Survivor Fashion Show,” Koury said. “There is still plenty of room for those who want to participate. At the moment, we are honored to have Catrina McCollough, Geneva Dummer, Margaret McMichael, Janine Celestine and Cynthia Shields as models.”
Sponsors for “A Night Out in Red” include Ingalls Shipbuilding, Singing River Health System, South Mississippi Heart Center, Memorial Hospital, Garden Park Medical Center, Merit Health Biloxi, Dressed in Blue, Beachview Dental, and The Dermatology Clinic.
The women’s heart campaign is part of the AHA’s 20/20 Impact Goal, which is to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular diseases and stroke by 20 percent by the year 2020.
