Cooler weather and shorter days aren’t the only signs of autumn approaching. With the changing of the seasons, we often observe a change in fashion and beauty trends. According to Ann Marie Walley, owner of Antonian Salon in Gulfport, “Fall is the
perfect time to change your beauty routine and richen up your color palette.” Here are some tips from local professionals to help for a fall look.

HAIR:
COLOR
“Trends like darker roots
and balayage will continue to remain popular,” said Amber Bosarge, owner of Salon Rouge
in Ocean Springs. “While smokey and pastel colors will stay on trend from the summer, fall
is the perfect time to spice up your color.” Bosarge’s favorite autumn hues include raven black, chocolate brown, warm caramel blends, pumpkin spice lowlights and creamy blondes.
STYLE
This years’ fall hair trends accentuate natural texture with undone waves and retro curls,” said Walley. “Sharp, cropped styles are trending majorly and braids are still a favorite, ranging from bohemian to intricate and constructed.”
CUT
MAKEUP:
LIPS
“A bold lip is practically a pre- requisite for the fall, including matte, dark lips to deep burgundy or berry,” Walley said. She recommends long-wearing lip colors.
BOLD EYES
“Be on the lookout for one key texture: metallics,” Walley said. “This season it is all about the eyes, with strong smokey effects.” Get the look with a metallic, smokey eye, graphic eyeliner, full brow and thick lashes. GLOWING SKIN
Harsh contours are out,
replaced with a soft glow. Try a strategically placed champagne or rose gold highlighter in its place.
“Haircut trends for this fall are all about texture and playfulness,” says Bosarge. “One of the most popular haircuts right now is the shoulder-grazing bob. This is a mid-length bob that is cut so the hair falls right around the top
of the shoulders and is slightly textured at the ends.”
NAILS:
“This fall we are going to see
the darker, vintage hues, muted neutrals and rich jeweled tones being a big hit,” Bosarge says.
“If you feel like having a little
fun with your nails this season, metallics, chrome and foiling are going to also be very popular. You can mix and match with matte and glossy finishes.”
