his year’s Renaissance the Runway was a reinvention of last year’s inaugural fashion show fundraiser. The event was hosted by IP Casino Resort & Spa and benefits the Bacot
McCarty Foundation.
In its second year, the event nearly doubled in size,
with the number of models increasing from 31 to 63. “We also had an increase in the boutiques participating and added a choreographed performance to begin the
show from Infinity Dance Company,” said Todd Trenchard, executive director of the Bacot McCarty Foundation. “Additionally, we added a reception
for the sponsors, boutiques and models at Tien after the show that was a tremendous success.”
In total, the event raised more than $40,000, which
is substantially more than last year. “Led by South
Mississippi Living magazine, our presenting sponsor, we quickly sold all of our tables and I think that everyone was surprised at how well this event has been received,” Trenchard said. “Both the boutiques and the models showed an elevated excitement as they could tell what we were presenting was something special.”
This year’s fashion show was themed Fashions for Gulf Coast Celebrations, and showcased outfits that could be worn to events ranging from a Shuckers baseball game with the family to Mardi Gras celebrations on the Coast. Fashions were provided by participating local boutiques, including The Bay Collection, Bayou Belle, Belk of Gautier, Bellini and Capri at Beau Rivage Resort & Casino, Bijoubel, Elle Boutique, Gatlin’s, Grant’s Menswear, Grant’s for Her, IP Trends,
