CORA’S
story and photos by Julian Brunt
The history of the White House Hotel is a storied tale from the original owner, Judge White, to the years of desolation and tireless work to have it restored. It’s a story that reflects the resilience of Biloxi itself.
Today there is hardly a more elegant property on the Gulf Coast, with a columned façade that looks out over the beautiful waters of the Mississippi Sound and the white sand beaches
for which the Coast is known. There are 76 rooms in the boutique hotel, a swimming pool, and lovely grounds to stroll. In this beautiful setting another crown jewel can be found in Cora’s
Restaurant and Bar, named for Judge White’s wife, Cora.
The Bar is a popular gathering spot in the hotel lobby, offering more than 40 wines, 16 local and craft beers and an appealing menu. In the beautifully appointed restaurant you will be graciously received and placed in the most capable hands of Chef David Gooch.
Just a quick look at the dinner menu and you will be assured that a well- balanced and thought-out offering is going to make your dining experience at Cora’s something special indeed. As more and more foodies are doing
