Atlanta Falcons in 1991. In 1992, Ron Wolf, general manager for the Green Bay Packers, traded his first round pick to Atlanta for the rights to Favre.
Favre started his first game against the Bengals. Down
by six points and only a minute left in the game, he led his team on a 92-yard drive and a touchdown to win the game. He started every game for the next 15 seasons, 253 straight games in all. He earned three Most Valuable Player awards, 11 playoff appearances, seven division game titles, four NFC Championship Games and was victorious over the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XXXI. He retired from the Packers in 2007.
He went on to play for the New York Jets in the 2008 season, and on a cold February day in 2009, decided to hang up
his uniform and pads for a second time. At the age of 40, Favre decided to come back out of retirement to play for the Minnesota Vikings. In 2009, he took the Vikings to the NFC North Division and won it by defeating the Packers. In August 2010, Favre finally decided to retire for good.
He left the NFL with 10,169 passing attempts, 71,838 passing yards with an 86 percent passer rating and 508 touchdowns.
Favre donates his time to a number of worthwhile charities, community events and fundraisers and always has time to inspire children. He is definitely an inspiration to us all.
