When friends get together for dinner, there is always discussion on where to go and what to eat. Everyone has a different thought, but for all the favorites in one spot, it is The Buffet at Island View Casino Resort, where everyone is sure to find plenty to fill their plates.
The expansive restaurant is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offers a full selection of Southern favorites, Italian and Asian specialties, a carving station with comfort foods and a complete salad bar. There is also an array of desserts, from cobblers and bread pudding to cookies, cakes and homemade ice creams and gelatos.
The buffet also has Sunday brunch, and guests ages 50 and older who are members of the View Crew, can get half off the meal. On Sundays, beginning at 4 a.m., View Crew members who earn 100 points will receive 50 percent off Sunday breakfast or bunch. Players can redeem this offer at any marketing kiosk.
At the buffet, the sauces are house-made; the Delta catfish is breaded with a seasoning mix prepared especially for Island View; and more than 300 pounds of Gulf shrimp are cooked in-house daily. The catfish and shrimp are found on one of the more popular stations featuring Southern foods, including fried chicken and shrimp, hush puppies, stuffed crabs and cornbread.
Spring rolls, lo mein noodles, sesame chicken, sticky green beans, egg drop soup and more are a few of the Asian dishes, while at the Italian station guests can get fresh-baked pizzas, chicken Parmesan, eggplant-spinach casserole, ravioli and spaghetti and meatballs.
Gulf Coast shrimp salad, crab salad, greens, vegetables, toppings, and dressings can all be found at the salad bar.
Dessert includes the house-made gelatos, custards, sorbets and ice cream. Plus, indulge with carrot cake, pecan pie, cheesecake and made-to-order funnel cakes. Sugar-free desserts are also an option.
Whether a hearty eater who likes a variety of food or someone who prefers a particular dish, The Buffet is sure to please. The Buffet is open for breakfast daily, 7 to 10:30 a.m.; lunch, Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; dinner, Sunday through Thursday, 4 to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 4 to 11 p.m.; and Sunday brunch, 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
