ATTRACTIONS
Next up was a close and personal encounter with “big boy” McCoy, a 500-lb sea lion and long- standing resident of IMMS. I have to say, I was rather shy when receiving a kiss on the cheek from him! Although his whiskers may have tickled, the laughs from those entertained by their interactions with him were something to cherish. McCoy had his own personality of fun and humor that made the experience memorable. If I wasn’t already surrounded by love, I was sure amazed by the troop of dolphins that await. Like a bunch of kids at recess, these dolphins were nonstop with their playful antics. One even gave me a secret handshake and a prompt wet kiss!
Up next was the Ray Pool, where I was able to feed and pet stingrays. At first, I was nervous, but my unease quickly faded as these graceful creatures slurped up their tasty treats and lovingly swarmed around me for more! As the day’s adventure concluded, an audience of visitors was charmed once more by the tricks and humorous antics on display at the Dolphin & Sea Lion Stadium.
Reflecting on my hands-on experience at Oceans Adventures, I felt an overwhelming sense of joy. My childhood infatuation with marine life resurfaced from the depths within as these lovable creatures brought her out of her shell. So, whether you’re a lifelong local or a first-time visitor, Ocean Adventures Marine Park is a must-see attraction that fosters connection and appreciation for the incredible marine life surrounding us. It’s funny how nature has a way of bringing us back to our Coastal roots!
