WALTER ANDERSON MUSEUM OF ART
The Walter Anderson Museum of Art (WAMA) offers a variety of art exhibits and events that showcase the legacy of artist- philosopher Walter Inglis Anderson. Visitors can enjoy self- guided or docent-led tours of the museum’s permanent collection, rotating exhibitions, and exciting special events throughout the year.
The museum will host the Alice in Wonderland Tea Party on
October 5, where children can enjoy traditional tea, dress up in costumes, and create their own teacups. On October 17, celebrate Alice in Wonderland at a reception for Anderson’s Alice, a book of illustrations. This exhibition features Anderson’s whimsical illustrations of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, reimagined with Gulf South landscapes. The event features readings from the story and inspired bites by local chefs.
Dive “Down the Rabbit Hole” and into the Wonderland Illuminated Gala on December 6 as the WAMA campus is transformed through art, light, and music. The event features bespoke art installations, hand-crafted cocktails, specialty hors d’oeuvres, music, and a little bit of adventure.
