Nestled among crape myrtles, mimosas, and oak trees, a cozy 113-year-old Southern cottage beckons visitors to immerse themselves in a world of creativity.
The Pink Rooster/Gallery Garbo, housed in this historic Coastal cottage on Washington Avenue in Ocean Springs, has become a destination for travelers seeking one-of-a-kind, original creations by more than 45 local, national, and international artists. This gallery is more than a showcase for fine art; it’s a celebration of community and history as the artistic heartbeat of the Coast.
Owner Linda Garbo Rosetti recalls when she first laid eyes on the cottage in 2011, saying, “I fell in love with this building from the moment I saw it and envisioned my gallery here.” Restored by the late Keith Covacevich with the help of Rosetti’s huband, Clell Rosetti, the cottage underwent significant repairs to preserve its charm, including leveling the old floors in preparation for new

installations. Rosetti credits Covacevich with leaving “a piece of his heart within these old walls.”
Inside the gallery, each room tells a story. Visitors are treated to a dazzling variety of works, from original oil, acrylic, and watercolor paintings that capture the beauty of land, sea, and local wildlife to handcrafted jewelry sparkling with various metals and crystals. Blown-glass designs shimmer in the sunlight, while pottery offers both decorative appeal and functional oven-to-table versatility.
The Book Nook features literary works by local authors, including Valerie Winn’s heartwarming A Creative Space in an Artistic Place, a book in which the cottage “muses on its remarkable life in Ocean Springs.” This beautifully illustrated publication blends history, photographs, and the artistry of the community.
Rosetti explains that the gallery is a tribute to her father, Camille Garbo, Jr., a painter and garden sculpture business owner. “The
