What began as a simple brunch concept in Ocean Springs has quickly blossomed into one of the Coast’s best brunch and lunch spots. Joshua and Amber Lord, the brains and brawn behind Blue Dog Bistro, recently opened the doors at their brand new Gulfport location and the response has been outstanding. It was always their dream to open up a restaurant in Gulfport and now they are serving up coffee, brunch, and lunch to a wider audience. Named in honor of their first rescue dog, Blue, Blue
Dog Bistro’s menu is exactly what you need in your life.
As with any restaurant that focuses hard on brunch, caffeine to start your day is at the forefront of what’s offered. Joshua considers himself a coffee aficionado and is proud of his barista team, along with their incredible selection of coffees and teas. My hands down favorite drink at Blue Dog (and one of my top five of all time ever) is the Blue Dog Matcha Latte. Made with Butterfly Pea Matcha, this latte
is the perfect blend of matcha, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, and just a dash of whipped cream. Its blue hue and signature pup image make this truly a unique beverage. It pairs perfectly with the house Cinnamon Roll Skillet, which features three house cinnamon rolls topped with cream cheese icing and the perfect dash of blue sprinkles.
Both breakfast and lunch menus feature “Good Dog” and Bad Dog” options with Good Dog offering lighter fare and Bad Dog for when
