Known for its eclectic art mix, fresh and culturally rich food, and amazing live music, the Gulf Coast has something for even the most diverse palates. With a dozen charming seaside cities, there’s always something exciting to see and experience. From weekly farmers markets to monthly art walks, check out these recurring events that are a definite must-see no matter if you’re a visitor, newcomer, or a local.
HANCOCK COUNTY
• Second Saturday Art Walk each month in Old Town Bay St. Louis, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. with art galleries and live music to keep the streets humming with activity.
• Hancock County Farmers Market, 3068 Longfellow Drive in Bay St. Louis. Open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon.
• Diamondhead Farmers Market, 5000 Diamondhead Circle at the Diamondhead Town Hall Green. Open Fridays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and every third Sunday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. beginning in March.
HARRISON COUNTY
• Gulfport Harbor Farmers Market, 1177 20th Avenue. Open on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
• Long Beach Farmers Market, 301 Jeff Davis Avenue. Open on Saturdays from 8 a.m. until noon.
• The Pass Market at War Memorial Park, 103 Fleitas Street in Pass Christian. Open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
• Biloxi Farmers Market, under the I-110 bridge overpass on Howard Avenue. Open Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 a.m. until 2 p.m.
• Mama Ain't Cooking at 10000 Factory Shops Boulevard in Gulfport. Open the second Thursday of each month from 11 a.m. until 6:30 p.m. and features more than a dozen food trucks with a variety of dishes.
JACKSON COUNTY
• Ocean Springs Drum Circle, on Front Beach Drive across from Fort Maurepas every Saturday about an hour and a half before sunset.
• Ocean Springs Fresh Market, 1000 Washington Avenue, and a second farmers market at 410 Porter Avenue. Both sites are open on Saturdays from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
• Vancleave Farmers Market, 12308 Miss. 57. Open on Mondays from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.
• The Biloxi Main Street Association holds a community block party on the first Friday of each month on Howard Avenue. Each Friday Block Party has a different theme and highlights businesses and restaurants while featuring live music and vendors.
• Wheel-throwing and hand-building pottery classes on Saturdays from 10 a.m. until noon and Thursdays from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Carnegie Library Building at 1300 24th Street in Gulfport.
• Florence Gardens Farmers Market, Magnolia Hall 12321 Preservation Drive in Gulfport. Open every first Sunday each month from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
