MISSISSIPPI — Everyone loves
the holidays and all the merriment
that goes along with them. Casino employees were treated to fun at work through parties, giveaways and special meals. Plus, some casinos even helped get the season started by handing out turkeys and hams to their workforce and hosting holiday meals.
Bally’s Vicksburg distributed turkeys to team members in November, and gave out hams and pumpkin pies in December. Plus, those who worked on Thanksgiving and Christmas were treated to a special meal.
In Greenville, Harlow’s Casino Resort & Spa hosted traditional meals for team members in November and December. During the Thanksgiving dinner, grocery gift cards were distributed. In December, team members received a personal holiday card with a monetary gift from Harlow’s general manager.
Hard Rock Biloxi also provided each employee with their choice of a turkey or ham. But the real fun at Hard Rock happened during the family party for the children of employees. Families participated in activities, including writing letters to Santa, playing games and doing arts and crafts.
After a few years’ absence, several casinos brought back their family parties, including Silver Slipper Casino Hotel. The Hancock County property held a children’s Christmas party that had food, arts and crafts projects and presents for all the children. Santa

Harrah’s Gulf Coast hosted an employee Christmas party with an unusual twist. At Santa’s Luau, employees could get their photos with surfer Santa and Mrs. Claus. There was plenty of luau-themed food, as well as cookie and ornament decorating stations and even a raffle with a variety of prizes given out throughout the day. Plus, employees received a gift card.
And along with parties and festive meals, Scarlet Pearl Casino Resort employees found a different way to enjoy the holidays. Theo, a small elf, was a constant presence, showing
