Kick off those Sunday shoes, ‘Footloose’ comes to Beau
BILOXI — It’s time to cut loose and kick off your Sunday shoes as “Footloose the Musical” dances its way into Beau Rivage. One of the most explosive rock- n-roll movie musicals of all time can be see select days from June 21 through July 7.
The classic Oscar and Tony- nominated movie and Broadway hit show is fueled by the world-renowned title song, “Footloose,” as well as “Let’s Hear It For The Boy” and “Holding Out For A Hero,” and is sure to have audiences dancing and singing in their seats throughout the show.
The “Footloose” soundtrack reached No. 1 on the Billboard charts and has sold more than 15 million copies. Additional songs include those by pop greats Eric Carmen, Sammy Hagar, Kenny Loggins and Jim Steinman. Produced by special arrangement with Concord Theatricals, Rand Productions delivers this 90-minute version, which is directed by Jeb K. Rand.
“I am thrilled to be bringing Broadway back to the Beau,” said Rand, executive producer and president of Rand Productions. “This year, being the
40th anniversary of the film while Beau Rivage celebrates its 25th anniversary, makes the timing extra special. Let’s hear it for the Beau!”
“Footloose the Musical” tells the story of Ren McCormack, a big city teen who finds himself out of place in a rural town where dancing has been outlawed. As he tries to carve out a place for himself, he ignites a revolution in the town as the younger generation rebels against the strict rules of the local preacher. Through upbeat music and dynamic choreography, “Footloose” celebrates the spirit and optimism of young minds desiring change.
