Golden Nugget shakes it up with June drawings
BILOXI — Golden Nugget Biloxi is shaking it up in June with prizes for both slot and table players. The $60,000 Shake It Up Slots and Table Games Drawings take place Saturday, June 3, and again Saturday, June 24.
Players club members are earning entries now, with one entry awarded for every 20 tier credits earned. On the giveaway days, activate entries by earning an additional 20 tier credits after 6 p.m.
Drawings both nights are from 7 to 10 p.m. with winners drawn at random times. Ten slot players will win $1,000 Free Play, and 10 table games players will win $1,000 in Table Bets.
At the 10 p.m. drawings, one slot player and one table games player will be selected. The slot player will get $5,000 in Free Play and the table player will win $5,000 in Table Bets.
Also at Golden Nugget, get four-times points on Saturday, June 10. From 6 to 11 p.m., players with their club card correctly inserted in a slot machine will get their points multiplied. The offer excludes video poker and electronic table games.

We did a story a few months ago on table games with progressive jackpots. I’m not sure if it was because of the story, but since then, several large jackpots have hit, including one at Boomtown Casino Biloxi. A Texas player was the first six-of-a-kind winner playing at the new Harmony Baccarat progressive table game. He won $103,199. The Harmony Progressive is a first in Mississippi and is currently an exclusive offering at BOOMTOWN CASINO BILOXI and its sister properties, HOLLYWOOD GULF COAST and AMERISTAR VICKSBURG. Players must place a progressive jackpot wager to be eligible to win. Making that extra wager — the one that will get you the big money if the cards align — is key when playing table games with progressive jackpots. If you don’t make the bet, in this case it was $5, you may have the cards, but you won’t get the big jackpot.
Summer just got hotter at HARD ROCK with the new Road House 777 Bar & Lounge. The new country club is upstairs at Hard Rock Live. With pool tables, drink specials Thursdays and Fridays and live music on Saturdays, Road House 777 is sure to be the perfect place to have a country good time.
It’s true this column usually has something or another about restaurants and dining out. It is hard not to write about the subject when the food in Mississippi is just so good — and, no doubt, casinos have some of the best offerings around. All this brings me to the news that SILVER SLIPPER CASINO HOTEL has reopened its Bayou Caddy Oyster Bar, one of my favorite places to eat. As its name implies, this comfortable spot features fresh gulf oysters on the half shell and chargrilled oysters. Plus, there are several other seafood dishes, including pan-sautéed red fish served with crawfish rice. You’ll just have to visit the restaurant to get the full menu and the full taste experience. So happy to have the oyster bar back.
Another place for great oysters — charbroiled and on the half shell — is Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. at GOLDEN NUGGET BILOXI. In this issue you can read all about our wonderful meal, including some new menu items like the blackened red fish. And one more restaurant note: we recently dined at BEAU RIVAGE’s reimagined lobby restaurant, Salt & Ivy, enjoying a wonderful Saturday champagne brunch. While there are many choices, the brunch bunch we were with mostly selected the eggs Sardou entrée — perfectly poached eggs atop artichoke bottoms with creamed spinach and hollandaise sauce and served with breakfast potatoes. It was delicious, as were the bottomless mimosas.
One final note: If you are reading this, it is probably because you like to visit casinos. But, have you ever thought about working at one? Casinos across the state are hiring for a variety of jobs and departments. This might be the time to see about getting hired — maybe even at your favorite spot.
BILOXI — Three cool cars and thousands in FreePlay will be awarded in The Giveaway Corvette Summer Series at Beau Rivage. In June, July and August, players club members can earn entries for monthly drawings in which a new Corvette and FreePlay or TablePlay prizes will be awarded.
Players club members can receive entries through casino play. Receive one entry for every 100 MGM Rewards points earned throughout the promotional period. Plus, get two-times entries Mondays through Wednesdays.
Players must activate their entries on each drawing day by swiping their M life card at one of the designated kiosks on the casino floor. Drawings
will be held Saturdays, June 24, July 29 and Aug. 26. During each giveaway day, drawings willbeheldat5,7and9p.m.
Ten winners will be selected at 5 p.m. to each win $1,000 FreePlay or TablePlay. The prizes double at 7 p.m. when 10 winners will be selected to each win $2,000 FreePlay or TablePlay.
At 9 p.m. on all three drawing nights, one winner will drive away in a new Corvette.
